The House - Gardens

View plans of the garden

Sayres House has imaginative landscaped gardens backing onto open countryside and delightful Cotswold stone walling. There are surprise features all around the garden which can bring great enjoyment to adults and children alike. It is fully enclosed and child friendly. That said there are three gate entrances to public highways and it is important that parents are mindful of this in assessing risk in relation to their own children and their individual sensibilities. Equally so we draw the same attention to this for dogs and their owners.

Main Lawn

Main Lawn

Looking back from east to west, the house reveals itself amongst a beautiful planting scheme. The sweeping lawn provides a private space for sunbathing and relaxing.

Circular Herb Garden

Circular Herb Garden

The hidden herb garden is surrounded by high yew hedging. It's a magical space and a great place to hide, either as a suntrap for the adults or hide and seek games for children. Something to delight young and old.

CGazebo

Gazebo

An elegant Gazebo delineates the eastern end of the garden and provides a lovely focal point. A high vantage point, with spectacular views across the area of outstanding natural beauty, provides an ideal place to work away from home.

Children's Play Area

Children's Play Area

A children's swing, slide, and climbing apparatus is behind one of the beech hedges. Out of sight but not out of mind enables them to play on their own or be supervised if necessary.
